How We Delivered 16,000 Pieces of School Furniture Across 18 Islands

One Project, 18 Islands, 94 Schools

Following a competitive international tender in 2022, Blue Wave Shipping Agency was awarded the logistics distribution contract under the Kiribati Education Improvement Program (KEIP) on behalf of the Government of Kiribati Ministry of Education, funded through the Australian High Commission.

The Challenge

• Receiving more than 30 international shipping containers
• Transporting all containers from Betio Port to secure storage
• Distributing approximately 16,000 pieces of student desks, classroom tables, storage units and steel containers
• Coordinating deliveries across 94 schools on 18 islands
• Chartering landing craft for outer island distribution
• Delivering and assembling classroom furniture

Blue Wave successfully completed the project with professionalism, efficiency and reliability, consistently meeting project milestones and supporting the Ministry of Education and the Australian Government in improving educational infrastructure throughout Kiribati.
